ABOUT FHC

Dotted Line

The Federation House Commitment (FHC) is a responsibility deal, managed by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Plan) and the FDF (Food and Drink Federation). It aims to help companies in the Food & Drink Sector to reduce water usage within their company, and by doing so, to help work towards an overall sector-wide water reduction target of 20% by the year 2020. Any food and drink manufacturer is invited to join as a Member.

Under the FHC, food and drink companies pledge to review their on-site water use and develop site specific action plans to significantly reduce water consumption and costs within six months of signing up to the Commitment. Members agree to provide data on water and cost savings made on-site on an annual basis.

WRAP has appointed Hyder Consulting to act as an independent administrator of the Commitment. With its water efficiency expertise, and experience of working with food and drink companies, Hyder will also play a central role in helping Members by providing expert advice on assessing water use and developing implementation plans.

All if the support provided by Hyder is free, in confidence, and bespoke to a company’s needs.
